Advanced Soap Making

Want to learn soap making secrets that can transform your soap products from ordinary to extraordinary? If so, then this class is for you! Those who have taken our beginning class (What the Soap? Soap Making 101) are now ready to learn more advanced techniques.

Learn advanced cold process soaping techniques:

  • High Top Piping methods with embeds

  • How to work with various colour combinations

  • How to beautify flat top soaps

  • Learn to execute a plan to make your own specialty soap

  • Navigating the soap calculator

  • Learn the properties of basic hard and soft oils and how these can influence the your final bar

  • Troubleshooting

What to expect


Participants will make a 2-pound batch of soap using the high top piping technique with embeds--the equivalent of about 8 bars-- a retail value of $75.00!


A wooden soap box lined with a 2 pound silicone mold will be provided to each participant during class and to take home afterwards.


The option to purchase soap kits along with colourants and fragrances will be made available at a nominal fee.


Each participant will be provided with a booklet detailing advanced soap making techniques, information taught during class and how to plan to make your own unique batch. Helpful resources and websites.

Dress Requirements:


Each participant is expected to wear a long sleeve shirt, full length pants and closed toe shoes.


Safety goggles will be provided.


Please bring an apron if you are concerned about getting any materials on your clothing.
